Unlock Your Potential: Personalized Support for Every Stage of Life
Counselling is a powerful tool for personal growth and emotional well-being. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with the guidance of a trained professional. Through a collaborative process, we'll work together to gain fresh perspectives on the challenges you face and develop strategies to manage your emotions effectively.
In our sessions, you'll have the opportunity to feel truly heard and understood. As the expert on your own life, you hold the answers within you. My role is to work alongside you, helping you uncover insights and find solutions that align with your unique experiences and goals.
Adult counselling can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. I also have extensive experience working with neurodiversity, particularly ADHD and ASC, offering tailored support for these unique perspectives and challenges. Whether you're seeking support for a specific concern or looking to enhance your overall well-being, counselling can be a transformative experience.
If you're considering adult counselling, the first step is to reach out and schedule an initial consultation.
During this complimentary 20-minute phone call, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking support and explore how counselling can help. It's an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a sense of my approach, and determine if we're a good fit to work together.
If you decide to move forward, we'll establish a regular schedule of sessions tailored to your needs.
Integrative counselling is a highly individualised approach that recognises the complexity and diversity of each person's experiences.
Rather than sticking to a single therapeutic model, I incorporate techniques from various counselling disciplines to create a tailored approach that aligns with your specific needs and goals.
This adaptable, comprehensive style of counselling allows us to work together in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you, promoting deep personal insight and lasting change.
Growing up in today's world can be challenging, and sometimes children and young people need extra support to thrive. Counselling offers a nurturing environment where your child can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. By working with a compassionate therapist, they can develop a stronger sense of self, build healthier relationships, and learn valuable skills to navigate life's ups and downs.
I specialise in working with children and young people ages 10-18, helping them address concerns such as anxiety, low mood, self-harm, self-esteem, friendship issues and family relationships. Using a combination of talking, creative expression, and interactive activities, I create a therapy experience that resonates with each young person's unique needs and preferences. During face-to-face sessions, I offer creative and sensory play therapy, which many children and young people enjoy and find beneficial. This approach can be particularly helpful for those with neurodiversity such as ADHD and ASC.
As a parent/carer, your involvement and support are essential to your child's counselling journey. I value open communication and collaboration with parents/carers, offering regular opportunities for feedback and guidance. Together, we can create a strong foundation for your child's emotional well-being and personal growth.
If you're considering counselling for your child or young person, the first step is to schedule an initial consultation. During this meeting, we'll discuss the challenges your child is facing and explore how counselling can help. As the parent or caregiver, your insights and perspectives are invaluable in understanding your child's needs.
If your child is feeling uncertain or apprehensive about counselling, we can include them in the initial consultation via phone or video call. This allows them to ask questions, express their concerns, and feel more engaged in the process.
Following our initial conversation, your child will fill out a brief form with your guidance, sharing their thoughts and experiences. In our first session, there is an option to meet as a family for the first part of the session, but in most cases I'll spend the individual time with your child. The majority of my work with young clients takes place in person, as this enables the use of interactive tools and sensory objects that enhance the therapeutic experience.
As we progress through the counselling journey, I'll keep you informed with regular check-ins and opportunities for feedback. Your input is essential in ensuring that the process is meeting your child's needs and fostering their growth. While my primary focus is on supporting your child directly, I value your collaboration and involvement throughout the process.
Confidentiality is a fundamental principle in counselling, and I'll review the limits of confidentiality with both you and your child during our initial session. My goal is to create a safe, trusting space where your child feels heard, supported, and empowered.
